How TimeLyss Root Restore™ Works
Step 1 — DermaPen® Scalp Microneedling
Precision microneedling creates controlled microchannels throughout areas of thinning while stimulating the scalp’s natural rejuvenation response, and prepares the scalp for the professional serum. Treatment is customized to the hairline, temples, a widening part, the crown, and areas of diffuse thinning or reduced density.
Step 2 — KeraFactorMD® In-Office Serum
A patented formula of biomimetic — or bio-identical — polypeptides selected for scalp revitalization, applied at professional concentration: 6 biomimetic growth factors, 2 skin proteins and 2 specialized compounds for scalp revitalization. KeraFactor’s compounds are synthetically created to share the same chemical structure as their human counterparts; the serum contains no compounds extracted from humans, animals or plants.
Advanced Delivery Technology
Individual KeraFactor growth factors are encapsulated within protective nanoliposomes measuring less than 200 nm. These microscopic delivery vehicles are designed to improve absorption through the hair duct and into targeted areas of the epidermis surrounding the follicle — which is why the serum is paired with professional scalp microneedling.
PDRN + Advanced KeraFactorMD® Technology
The advanced KeraFactorMD formulation also incorporates Follistatin, PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) and NanoFluorosome™ technology. PDRN is included to support cellular activity, rejuvenation and the environment surrounding the hair follicle, while NanoFluorosome™ technology is designed to work synergistically with red-light laser treatment.
Step 3 — KeraFlex® Medical-Grade Laser Therapy
The treatment is completed with the KeraFlex® Laser Cap — a medical-grade low-level laser therapy device with 302 true laser diodes at a 650 nm wavelength. Unlike devices that rely on LEDs, KeraFlex uses true laser diodes to deliver focused light energy across the scalp, helping support scalp circulation, increase delivery of oxygen and nutrients, support the growth (anagen) phase of the hair cycle, improve the appearance of density and thickness, and support overall scalp health.

Think of this as your daily Root Restore™ maintenance treatment. It combines selected polypeptides and skin proteins with NanoFluorosome™ technology to support weak or resting follicles, scalp circulation and the appearance of thicker, longer, healthier-looking hair. Apply one full dropper once daily to areas of concern and massage in with your fingertips or a scalp-stimulating brush, on wet or dry hair.
KeraFactor® Scalp Stimulating Shampoo & Conditioner
Your hair-growth routine starts in the shower. Cleansing and conditioning ingredients are combined with growth-factor technology to exfoliate, stimulate and reinvigorate the scalp. Use whenever you normally wash your hair; for longer hair, it can be used as a scalp treatment followed by your preferred conditioner on the lengths and ends.
Optional At-Home KeraFlex® Laser Therapy
For patients looking to further enhance their home protocol, KeraFactor recommends using the KeraFlex laser cap for 6 minutes per session, every other day, unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider. In office: DermaPen® microneedling + KeraFactorMD® serum + KeraFlex® laser therapy. At home: daily Scalp Stimulating Solution + Shampoo & Conditioner + optional KeraFlex® laser therapy.

When Will I See Results?
Hair restoration takes time because hair grows in cycles. According to the KeraFactor treatment protocol:
